John Wawrzynek
Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Berkeley
John Wawrzynek is a Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Berkeley. He holds a PhD and MS in Computer Science from the California Institute of Technology, an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana/Champaign, and a BS in Electrical Engineering, from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He is a co-director at the Berkeley Wireless Research Center (BWRC) and Vice Chair for Graduate Matters in the Computer Science Divison. His research interests include reconfigurable computing, computer architecture, computer-aided design, and wireless systems. He teaches courses in digital design, computer architecture, VLSI system design, and reconfigurable computing. He was co-founder of Andes Networks, a company specializing in the design and manufacturing of accelerators for network security; BEECube, Inc., specializing in reconfigurable computing systems; and Bina Technologies accelerating genomics applications.
